The city is already speaking. Is your destination ready to join the conversation?

Internal·IA presents at TIS 2026 a new way of connecting cities with people

Internal·IA presented TuCiudad at the Tourism Innovation Theatre of the Tourism Innovation Summit 2026, held at FIBES (Seville): a conversational AI platform that lets travellers ask a destination over WhatsApp or by voice and get the answer from the sources and services each administration connects.

Seville, 6 October 2026.— A tourist destination may have its information spread across a city council website, a transport one, a car-park one, a cultural agenda and half a dozen apps. Visitors should not have to learn where each thing lives: what they have is a question.

With that idea Internal·IA presented TuCiudad at the Tourism Innovation Summit 2026, the international tourism innovation gathering held at the Seville Exhibition and Conference Centre (FIBES). The session took place at the Tourism Innovation Theatre, within the Digital Demos format.

TuCiudad is a conversational AI platform for destinations: it connects WhatsApp and voice calls with the sources and services each administration authorises, answering visitors in real time and with no need for another app.

«For years we have digitalised destinations by adding more and more information, platforms and services. The next step is for visitors not to have to learn where each thing is. For them to simply ask, and for the technology to find the data or the service they need.»

Francisco Orellana, CEO of Internal·IA

Asking instead of searching

The platform’s premise is that the question replaces the navigation. Users write or speak in natural language —mobility, public transport, car parks, cultural agenda, tourist resources or municipal services— and the system works out what they need, queries the right source among those the destination has connected, and returns the answer in the same conversation.

That conversational layer does not replace the destination’s platforms, nor does it require centralising their information in a new system: it builds on what already exists. Each administration decides which sources are queried, which services are added and when a conversation should be handed over to a person.

Technology proven before being presented

TuCiudad did not arrive in Seville as a concept. The platform is the result of earlier deployments in which the same architecture had to serve thousands of people, live with information that changed through the day and understand the everyday language of residents and visitors.

At the Málaga Fair, TuFerIA ran in 2025 as the company’s own initiative and in 2026 alongside Málaga City Council, connected to live mobility, transport and car-park sources. During Málaga’s Holy Week it incorporated, over two editions, the position of the processions, routes, road closures and multilingual support. In Marbella, the Christmas intelligent assistant brought the municipal programme to WhatsApp and voice as a pilot experience. And in September 2026 the platform was presented at the 6th Smart City Congress of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities, held in Málaga alongside Greencities.

«The great opportunity for artificial intelligence in tourism is not merely conversing better. It is making all the digital capability a destination already has reachable by anyone through a simple question.»

What taking part in TIS means

The Tourism Innovation Summit brings the international tourism sector together in Seville every year. For Internal·IA it is the showcase where the technology is shown to destinations, administrations and operators from across Europe, not a deployment in the host city. The company had already been a finalist at the TIS awards in 2025, in the Tourism & Hospitality category.

The company is now working to extend TuCiudad to new destinations and public administrations, starting in each case from one specific area —an event, mobility, the agenda or a support service—, measuring its use and adding further areas afterwards.
